The only sympathy I have is for the wildlife, and the animals killed and suffering as a result of the idiocy of their refusal to practice sane forestry precautions. This was a preventable tragedy - and every single one of the politicians responsible should be tried for this crime. My heart broke at the photo of the deer looking up at the sky on land blackened with toxins. Where will the surviving wildlife go to survive? They will be forced into areas they don't belong, if that's even possible. Every single California voter who helped elect this government need only look as far as their own noses. THIINK about the future cancer rates - this is ground zero times a million - toxic fumes in the air - toxins entered into ground water and soil. You couldn't pay me to build on that land. Unlike the suffering of the people of East Palestine and Appalachia - this was totally preventable.

It reminds me of Lahaina. Real estate developers buying up land home owners can’t afford to rebuild. Arsonists are still being arrested in the LA area, however. And they are not all US citizens! Look at all the damage that terrorists can do by starting wildfires!

Let's hope President Trump remembers and helps Lahaina and Appalachia and East Palestine - everyone always gets hysterical and in a week people move on and the victims are left to deal with the tragedy - I agree - but again, even Lahaina was self inflicted - dry brush not taken away - I mean, how much simpler does it get to clear that stuff away? When will they learn? These environmentalists have destroyed thousands of acres - and don't tell me there won't be increased cancer cases all throughout LA - all of those plastics etc. that went into the soil and ground water - not to mention all of the plants and animals gone in horrific deaths. It just angers me to no end. Stupid people. We reap what we sow.

But not by the people of East Palestine - we disparage and forget about "fly over" country but without them we idiots on the coast would be in big trouble. The residents of California, by their election of incompetent assholes caused the catastrophe. Very different.

doors - I absolutely did not mean anything was caused by the citizens. I meant the irresponsibility of the railroads. P.S. I also live in flyover country (west-central Wisconsin). Whether it’s the water/lead pipe disaster in Flint Michigan, or the disaster in E Palestine - I note that nothing much is done as follow up, because these are towns with poor citizens (imagine these things happening in Manhattan, etc,)

I understand. I lived in Wisconsin. My mother in law was from Milwaukee. It’s not that I have trumps ear but I do know people who know him. Doesn’t hurt to remind through the grapevine of our fellow Americans in the Midwest. His task is enormous. And really the whole world is counting on him. So all we can is pray Gid gives him the strength.

You know Cat - my father in law's favorite expression, as a D Day vet was "think ahead". If people did that the world could avoid many tragedies - and I have to say that the nut jobs out in California are irresponsible - EVERY horse owner and animal over should have had a plan in place - many of these areas have only one way in and one way out - I would NEVER live in a place like that. Visiting a vineyard years ago out there we entered a tasting room and they had written on their black board, "be good humans". - what can anyone say to that? LaLa Land for sure - only it's brought about untold suffering and pain to the innocents of this world - namely God's creatures.

Let us join in prayer for the president of Romania, under threat of coup by the globalists. He is leading the charge of freedom for his country and the world against the globalists who are on the verge of defeat, and in their desperation, they are trying to start WWIII in order to institute global fascism.

Hopefully, President Trump will be on the right side of history and support freedom rather than fascism

China Town is one of the last of its kind. There were a lot of dark movies following the Vietnam fiasco. And you are right, we haven't seen anything like those challenging moves since then. Batman XXVI seems to be about all the Hollywood crowd can come up with. There is another scandal in San Francisco. See Tucker Carlson's interview today. If anything, it is greater and more significant than anything Hollywood could imagine in the 1970s. The (alleged) corruption of the SF police department and its ancillary services exceeds anything I have ever read about. And the ironic aspect of this murder, is that it is being overlooked and suppressed by the political faction that Hollywood anointed for all of California following their outrage over a war that JFK and LBJ fomented.

I immediately thought of John Leake when I heard the disturbing Tucker interview yesterday also. A case of suicide or murder in a bright star in the AI world and the anguished mother of this young man asking all the questions And getting no answers. Go John.

JFK actually tried to shut it down, had issued orders withdrawing the "advisors" in October of '63 with *all* the rest to follow within a year. Unfortunately, he was killed in November of '63 and LBJ did not follow through on the withdrawal. For more, you might check out _JFK And The Unthinkable_, by James Douglass.

“See Mr. Gittes, most people never have to face the fact that at the right time and the right place, they are capable of anything”.

As proven time & time again in OT. God restores the people, the land, the rain etc, etc etc, many times over, and they being the ones who got to witness His Power, faced the enemy at the set up right time & place and they couldn’t resist. With Christ, the indwelling of His Spirit & the authority that comes with it, enable us to not compromise. Because, He that is in us, is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

The strange fact that Newsom was returned to office after the recall election is an important clue, it seems. I asked in a substack comment “How could that be?”

The answer from an LA resident was “rigged election.” This exchange falls a bit short of an investigation, but the possibility is undeniable.

If all I know is what memes are telling me (it will have to do for now) then I’ll go with the one that says incompetence is a cover for sabotage.

I am reminded that a new government is coming. It’s just possible that gross malfeasance in public office that caused massive property damage and loss of life (animals too!) can and will be prosecuted in the new paradigm. All we know for sure is that malfeasance and constitutional collapse has been the law of the land under the Biden administration. Something’s got to give.

The film China Town was unforgettable. My Mom

Graduated UCLA right after the war. To get a teaching job, she had to change her last name. That aspect of society in the day was touched on when Gettes was investigating the nursing home.

The beauty of a movie like "Chinatown" is that complex human behavior is the actuality--is the "reality." I remember an acting teacher remarking once that all characters were multi-faceted and complex. To portray a character as simple and one-dimensional did a disservice to the viewer. He continued that all humans have capacities for evil and good. The greatest performance of a character like Al Capone was to portray not just the brutal killer who took a baseball bat and smashed someone's head at a dinner but also as the man who cried over operatic arias because he was so profoundly moved. Social media and all media today like black and white stick figures portraying humans. Someone is all good or all bad. Older movies with the nuances of "Chinatown" go a long distance in disabusing this notion.

Six decades and running on now and the Insidiously communist loving pure liberalism, like pure democracy cannibalizes itself like the Donner Party to exemplify where we are in America. At this point we are left with our own American hubris of indifference, to outrage to comedic relief. That’s the routine now, loathsomeness manifested as life with cancer. We are a saddened and broken society lead by the hierarchal self chosen 8% sprouts of the 1960’s, now seniors that advantaged themselves in those tumultuous years that took root in the fertile soil of my generation. Leftist’s creating demoralizing crises by dereliction of duty, where the clever never let the job work them, proving their intellect. Petulant impotence homogenized with perpetual restlessness is called progressive. By dystopian logic It would be foolish to hire those more competent, rather hire the mentally challenged, gaining the image of caring virtue and the insurance that they need you and will remain subservient, hiring the handicapped to maintain control to preeminence.

Ok, I said it, I’m the bad guy for saying it, so says their media.

And yet the Kumbaya commun-al minded Democratic Californians in 1980 went along with Republicans to try and escape the coming Communist imprisonment, and did for eight years, but then Bill and Hillary told them that “it takes a village” to raise a child, and they were recaptured, deluding themselves of their responsibility to citizenry, to hold Representatives responsible, but could not because they are kept in a state of petulant denial and outburst. Simply look at the Democrat Karen Bass’ hierarchal snubbing of those she represents, and what you see are Los Angelina’s, dyed in the wool propagandized Commun-ists Californians demoralized again and again, and again, haplessly helpless, can not let go of the regime they have been told loves and protects them. “The beatings will stop when morale improves”.

So yes, my Boomer generation, you are witnessing the real time transfer from the 8% retiring Boomers who cut their teeth hating America in the tumultuous 1960’s handing off the reigns to their comrade offspring, the younger. Like their hero’s Marx and Soros, nihilistically hating America’s freedom and independence, they refer to their own virtue of caring for serf’s, but for America being less than perfect, America deserves what it gets. Sanctified every time they are re-elected, according to the people that chose them to lead.

Of course there will always be collateral damage, that’s the point, what is it one does not understand about that. It’s just a different kind of progressive war unlike the nuclear scare they have used for six decades, in these new wars you must be six feet apart and in line and countable.

Six decades ago deep State Department actors colluded with Communist academic’s, acting as pacifists to divide Russian and Chinese Communists to supposedly prevent nuclear war. They covertly hated the Manhattan Project as if adversary countries were not doing the same. So they made Marx popular on campuses from UC Berkeley to NY’s Columbia university slandering America and its defenses under the ruse of preventing all out war, a psyop.

How’s that whole nuclear bomb prevention thingie working out California? Good thing the Communist comrades no longer work together, huh?

I also thought of Chinatown in relation to the LA fires. While I'm a sucker for a good film noir, this one stands out as one of the best - and one of the best movies of the 70s. I included a nod to it in my Substack satire piece earlier this week.
