The researchers categorized sun protection habits from “never/rarely” to “always” and found the strongest associations among the most frequent sunscreen users.

In other words: the more sunscreen use reported, the higher the observed skin cancer risk.

This was an observational study, meaning it cannot prove sunscreen directly caused cancer. However, the study was also not a simplistic comparison of random sunscreen users versus non-users. Researchers statistically accounted for many of the biggest known skin cancer risk factors — including skin color, hair color, tanning ability, childhood sunburns, tanning bed exposure, outdoor time, age, and sex.

Even after all of that, the association remained.

Many chemical sunscreens contain hormone disruptors that are rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream, including compounds like oxybenzone, octocrylene, and homosalate.

Some formulations have also been found contaminated with benzene, a known human carcinogen.

And then there is the vitamin D issue. Sunlight is how the human body produces vitamin D, a hormone precursor involved in immune regulation, cellular repair, inflammation control, and cancer defense. People who never receive sunlight exposure without sunscreen are likely to become vitamin D deficient.

That does not mean people should recklessly burn in the sun. Sunburns are clearly harmful. Aim for sensible sunlight exposure — spending enough time in the sun reap the benefits without reaching the point of burning. If you’ll be out in the sun for hours on end during mid summer, consider opting for zinc-based (mineral) sunscreens rather than heavily absorbed chemical formulations.

The takeaway is not to fear sunlight, but to respect it.

As of June 8, additional confirmed cases have emerged in multiple Texas counties — including La Salle and Gillespie — alongside the first confirmed case in New Mexico, involving a dog in Lea County that had recently traveled from Mexico.

The New World screwworm, eradicated from the United States in 1966, has advanced steadily northward through Central America and Mexico since 2023, producing extensive outbreaks in livestock, pets, and wildlife.

Unlike ordinary flies, New World screwworm larvae are obligate parasites that enter through open wounds and consume living tissue. As the infestation progresses, they produce expanding lesions that can become severe without prompt intervention.

So what can be done about it? You guessed it… Ivermectin.

Ivermectin: Proven Activity Against New World Screwworms in Animals and Humans

Ivermectin has shown remarkable effectiveness against New World screwworms in livestock.

The agency uses a biased phone survey to generate this bogus statement on their website: “National uptake for the 2025–2026 COVID-19 booster/vaccine among U.S. adults is 16.1%, with rates notably higher at 30.8% for adults aged 65 and older. Among children aged 6 months to 17 years, only 9.7% are reported as up to date with the 2025–26 vaccine.'‘ I worked with AlterAI to generate this report estimated ACTUAL booster uptake after reviewing the annual reports of Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax. The authors presented no evidence of delays or harm to patients.

The Ironic Twist

Here’s what Rockwell et al. apparently missed: their own paper — published in a flagship journal, covered by the Washington Post and KFF Health News, citing the very podcast episode they decry — serves as a multiplier for the phenomenon they claim to oppose. For every oncologist who reads this and tut-tuts about misinformation, there are now thousands of cancer patients and their families who just learned, from JAMA Network Open itself, that ivermectin-mebendazole/fenbendazole combinations are being used widely enough to warrant a 68-million-patient report, that the NCI is actively investigating ivermectin’s anti-cancer properties, and that the effect is concentrated among the very demographic most likely to question institutional authority. You cannot publish a paper documenting massive grassroots adoption of off-label cancer therapies — complete with a dramatic before-and-after graph — without simultaneously advertising those therapies. The Streisand Effect meets the peer-reviewed literature. A newly published case report in Frontiers in Neuroscience describes a remarkable and unexpected clinical response in an 80-year-old woman with advanced Alzheimer’s disease following a single high-dose psilocybin intervention.

The patient had lived with Alzheimer’s disease for approximately 10 years and experienced severe functional decline over the preceding five years. According to the report, she had become largely monosyllabic, demonstrated profound cognitive impairment, chronic urinary incontinence, impaired mobility, dysphagia, executive dysfunction, and severe reduction in spontaneous communication and emotional engagement.

After receiving a single 5g oral dose of psilocybin-containing mushrooms (Enigma strain), the patient reportedly experienced rapid and sustained functional improvement across multiple domains.

During the acute phase, the patient entered a prolonged deep sleep-like state accompanied by profuse sweating and clinically suspected hyperthermia.

Then, approximately 19 hours later, something unexpected occurred.

The patient spontaneously awakened and began speaking for hours, engaging in autobiographical conversation and recalling memories that had not been expressed in years.

Over the following days, her family reported meaningful improvements in:

• Speech and communication

• Memory and contextual recognition

• Walking and mobility

• Emotional connection and social engagement

• Bladder control, after years of chronic urinary incontinence

Most notably, the improvements were not merely immediate and fleeting.

At 1-month follow-up, bladder control reportedly remained restored, and the patient was described as still functionally improved compared with baseline. Due to the persistence of meaningful benefits, a second supervised psilocybin session was performed one month later.

To be clear, this is one published case report, not a randomized controlled trial, and causality cannot be established.

Nevertheless, the implications are difficult to ignore.

There are currently NO approved Alzheimer’s medications known to produce rapid, multi-domain improvements of this magnitude in advanced disease. Existing therapies may modestly slow decline or provide limited symptomatic benefit in some patients, but none are known to rapidly restore speech, continence, emotional engagement, and functional capacity in a patient with advanced Alzheimer’s.

Two of my grandparents died with advanced Alzheimer’s disease, and every medication they were prescribed ultimately failed to meaningfully alter the course of decline. Millions of families across the world face the same devastating reality.

These findings urgently need replication. For millions watching a parent or loved one disappear to Alzheimer’s, even the possibility of restoring lost function warrants serious scientific investigation.

I recently thought of le Carré while having lunch with a friend in London Savile Club, where le Carré was a member. This, in turn, reminded me of a chapter I wrote (with Dr. Peter McCullough) in our book, The Courage to Face COVID-19 about le Carré and his literary antecedent, Graham Greene, who both wrote stories about villains selling pharmaceuticals.

CHAPTER 36: For the Love of Money

Long before COVID-19 arrived, I was a close observer of the pharmaceutical industry. My great grandparents believed that pharmaceutical labs were at the forefront of progress, relieving suffering and extending life, and for the most part they were right. My paternal great grandfather owned a large chain of drugstores and was a benefactor of UT Southwestern Medical School. At the time of my birth, my maternal great grandmother gave me a generous gift of Pfizer stock. She had been impressed by Pfizer’s key role in discovering how to mass produce penicillin during World War II (in which her son was killed in action). Eighteen years later her gift paid for my university education. And then, in 1998, Pfizer received FDA approval to sell Viagra.

Pfizer initially developed the drug to treat high blood pressure and angina pectoris. However, as Pfizer’s researchers discovered in clinical trials, the drug was better at inducing erections than managing angina. And so, the company repurposed the drug for erectile dysfunction and launched a massive, global PR and marketing campaign—including seeking moral approval from Pope John Paul II and contracting the war hero and 1996 presidential candidate Bob Dole to be the brand’s poster gentleman—that succeeded in making Viagra a blockbuster. Fortunately for me, I still owned a large chunk of Pfizer stock. The price spiked in late 1998 and reached an all-time high in April of 1999. I sold my entire remaining position, which financed my early years as a freelance author, before my first book was published.

So, I learned firsthand why pharmaceutical companies seek to develop blockbuster drugs with fanatical zeal. Formulating a safe and effective new medicine to address a large, unmet need is very difficult and expensive. Performing clinical trials and obtaining FDA-approval is an arduous process that normally takes several years. Thus, if an opportunity for a new blockbuster presents itself, a big drug company like Pfizer will go to extreme lengths to seize it.

Three years after the release of Viagra, I learned that Pfizer was not the entirely respectable company my great grandmother had believed it to be. I arrived at this realization through my interest in British spy novels. In 2001 I lived in Vienna, around the corner from the Burgkino (Burg Cinema) which still played the 1949 film noir classic The Third Man on its big screen every weekend. I spent many a dreary winter Sunday afternoon watching the film. Based on the novella and screenplay by Graham Greene, The Third Man is a crime story about Harry Lime—an American running a medical charity in Vienna, who makes a killing selling penicillin on the bombed out, impoverished city’s black market. To increase his profits, he cuts the drug with other substances, thereby destroying its efficacy and causing the patients (including children) to die horribly from their infections.

In the film’s most iconic scene, the good guy (played by Joseph Cotton) meets his old friend Harry Lime (played by Orson Welles) on the Giant Ferris wheel in the Vienna Prater amusement park and tries to appeal to his conscience. At the wheel’s apex, the charismatic Harry opens the door, points down to people walking on the ground below, and says:

Look down there. Would you really feel any pity if one of those dots stopped moving forever? If I offered you twenty thousand pounds for every dot that stopped, would you really, old man, tell me to keep my money, or would you calculate how many dots you could afford to spare? Free of income tax, old man. Free of income tax. ... Nobody thinks in terms of human beings. Governments don’t, why should we? They talk about the people and the proletariat; I talk about the suckers and the mugs. It’s the same thing. They have their five-year plans, and so have I.

I sensed that Graham Greene might have based the story on something he’d witnessed or heard about. Doing some research, I learned that Harry Lime was probably based on the British spy Harold “Kim” Philby, with whom Greene worked in British intelligence during World War II. Greene, it seems, discovered that Philby was a Soviet double agent long before he was exposed as such in 1963. Instead of ratting out his friend, he kept it to himself and left the intelligence service in 1944. Several pieces of evidence suggest that when he wrote The Third Man a few years later, he based it on his conflicted friendship with Philby.

John le Carré was also fascinated by Graham Greene and Kim Philby, and his thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy—one of my all-time favorites—was inspired by the Philby story. His novel The Constant Gardener was published in 2001, and I read it with great interest. The story wasn’t set in Cold War Europe, but in Kenya, where a British diplomat’s wife is brutally raped and murdered. Upon closer examination, the diplomat realizes that she was about to reveal a horrifying crime committed by a pharmaceutical company, which murdered her in order to prevent the exposure.

The novel’s plot was reminiscent of a controversial drug trial performed by Pfizer in Kano, Nigeria in 1996 during a meningococcal outbreak. For the trial of its new antibiotic, trovafloxacin, Pfizer gave 100 children this new drug. The control group of 100 other children received the standard anti-meningitis treatment at the time—a drug called ceftriaxone. However, for the control group, Pfizer administered a substantially lower dose of ceftriaxone than the drug’s FDA-approved standard.

When the reduced dosing in the control group was discovered, it raised the suspicion that Pfizer did this in order to skew the trial in favor of its new drug. Five of the children who received trovafloxacin died, while six who received the reduced dose of ceftriaxone died. Other children apparently suffered grave injuries from the administration of the experimental antibiotic without their informed consent. The investigation and litigation that ensued was the stuff of a thriller, involving private investigators, bribery, blackmail attempts, and disappearing records. Thirteen years later, in 2009, Pfizer settled out of court with the plaintiffs.

In his author’s note, le Carré claimed that nobody and no corporation in the novel was based on an actual person or corporation in the real world.

But I can tell you this. As my journey through the pharmaceutical jungle progressed, I came to realize that, by comparison with the reality, my story was as tame as a holiday postcard.

In 2009, the same year that Pfizer settled with the trovafloxacin plaintiffs, the New York Times reported that a U.S. federal judge assessed Pfizer with the “largest health care fraud settlement and the largest criminal fine of any kind ever” for its illegal marketing of Bextra and three other drugs.200 The U.S. Department of Justice was unequivocal in characterizing Pfizer’s officers as guilty of grave criminal conduct at the expense of the American public.

Pfizer wasn’t alone. Between the years 2002 and 2012, the U.S. Department of Justice filed charges and reached settlements (ranging between $345 million and $3 billion) in 22 major cases of pharmaceutical company fraud, mostly under the U.S. False Claims Act. Violations included off-label promotion of drugs for uses not recognized by Medicare, failure to disclose safety data, paying kickbacks to treating physicians, and making false and misleading statements about safety.

Another notable case was Merck’s aggressive marketing of its painkiller Vioxx while knowing and concealing that high doses of the drug tripled the risk of heart attack. The FDA estimated it caused 27,785 heart attacks. Ultimately Merck settled the lawsuit for $4.85 billion and later paid a $950 million fine to the DOJ. After the civil settlement in 2005, Merck CEO Raymond Gilmartin took an early retirement and a job teaching a course titled “Building and Sustaining Successful Enterprises” at the Harvard Business School.

In the popular imagination, the criminal drug trade is synonymous with cartels and cocaine. And yet, under the cloak of scientific respectability, much organized crime has been conducted by certain American pharmaceutical companies.

For those who do not know me, my name is Christine Cotton. I am what is known as a whistleblower. I worked for 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in the management and analysis of clinical data. In addition to feeling shock and grief as I read her announcement, the following line jumped out at me:

For over a year, I have been suffering from excruciating pain starting from the lower back down to my legs, burning sensations in the skin, mainly in the legs and back.

This reminded me of literature I’ve read over the years about clandestine intelligence agencies using thallium compounds.

• Thallium compounds: Heavy metal toxins historically linked to assassinations and covert poisonings (including some attributed to intelligence services or state actors in various countries). Symptoms include:

  • Painful sensory neuropathy, often starting in the feet/lower legs with burning, stinging, or “walking on hot coals” sensations.

  • Paresthesias (tingling/numbness), hyperalgesia, and pain that can involve legs, back, and joints.

  • Distal weakness, progressing upward; autonomic issues.

  • Delayed alopecia (hair loss).

  Thallium disrupts cellular energy production and affects nerves, leading to a “dying-back” polyneuropathy. It has been used in isolated poisonings (via food/drink) and is difficult to detect without specific testing.

I’ve also researched stories of other poisonous agents such as the following.

• Nerve agents (Novichok series, developed by the Soviet Union/Russia): These organophosphates cause acute cholinergic crisis and can lead to long-term neurological damage, including neuropathies.

• Other toxins historically associated with state programs:

  • Ricin (used in the 1978 Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov “umbrella” assassination, linked to Soviet bloc intelligence): Primarily causes organ failure, but injection can lead to local tissue/nerve damage and systemic effects.

  • Organophosphates and other chemical warfare agents: These can cause intermediate syndrome or delayed neuropathy with limb weakness and pain.

It seems to me that Christine’s symptoms—as she described them in her farewell post—are most consistent with thallium poisoning. I wonder if a proper toxicology screening was performed for this kind of compound.

In what strikes me as expression of the astonishing arrogance that is apparently endemic to the virology profession, Munster denied that the case contained biological samples. He further claimed that he had the requisite documentation of his “diagnostics and testing equipment” on his laptop, and he assured the customs officer “but you don’t need them. I do this all the time.”

In fact, the case contained 113 vials in Styrofoam coolers. Testing showed 17 vials with deactivated (noninfectious) monkeypox virus, one with chickenpox virus, and others with human DNA.

To me, this incident raises three primary questions:

1). Why did a US federal agency (NIAID) scientist, purportedly working on official agency business, feel compelled to lie to a US Department of Homeland Security (division of US Customs and Border Protection) officer about what he was transporting?

2). Why wasn’t the shipment of samples simply coordinated with the DHS?

3). Does Munster really transfer biological samples in his luggage “all the time,” or was he lying about that as well?

Federal authorities have charged Munster and his colleague with conspiracy to smuggle monkeypox and making false statements to federal law enforcement. The men face up to five years in prison if convicted. The samples required proper import permits despite being deactivated.

In recent months, Vincent Munster has come under scrutiny for his participation in PREEMPT — a DARPA initiative for developing proactive strategies, purportedly to prevent the emergence and spillover of viral threats from animal reservoirs.

PREEMPT proposed various methods for advanced surveillance and ecological modeling. The most notable feature of PREEMPT was its proposal for engineering interventions like self-spreading vaccines.

In response to DARPA’s announcement of its PREEMPT project, Peter Daszak at EcoHealth Alliance pitched his DEFUSE proposal on January 30, 2018 for manipulating bat SARS coronaviruses, including the insertion of a furin cleavage site in the spike protein—that is, precisely the feature of SARS-CoV-2 (that emerged the following year) that made the virus efficiently transmit to humans.

The proposed research partners for DEFUSE included the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the University of North Carolina’s Ralph Baric lab, Columbia University’s Ian Lipkin lab, Duke-NUS, and Vincent Munster representing NIAID’s Rocky Mountain Laboratory.

Who Is Vincent Munster?

Born in the Netherlands, Munster earned his Ph.D. in virology from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2006. His doctoral work was supervised by Ab Osterhaus and avian influenza Gain-of -Function guru Ron Fouchier. Following in his master’s footsteps, Muster focused on the ecology, evolution, and pathogenesis of avian influenza viruses.

He remained at the Erasmus Medical Center, researching influenza pathogenicity and transmission, until 2009, when he joined NIAID as a visiting fellow, purportedly to study filoviruses (like Ebola) and henipaviruses.

In 2013, he established the Virus Ecology Unit as a tenure-track investigator. His research combines field studies in Africa (e.g., Republic of the Congo, Mali), the Caribbean, and the Middle East with high-containment (BSL-4) work at the Rocky Mountain Laboratory.

Public court filings and reports do not detail Munster’s rationale for transporting the samples, beyond stating that it was part of his work at the RML.

The harmless explanation for his behavior is that he was absolutely certain that the deactivated samples posed no risk and that he was merely trying to save time and hassle by dodging normal bureaucratic procedure. However, this rationale strikes me as expressive of the extraordinary arrogance of many virologists, who seem to regard themselves as possessing special understanding of nature and therefore a unique and elevated status.

While ordinary mortals may be subjected to a bunch of questions about goods they purchased or collected abroad, it seems that, as far as high and mighty virologists are concerned, they needn’t be questioned about what they are transporting.

IF such virologists make an error in their handling of contagious pathogens that results in a global pandemic, they may be confident — from the monumental example of SARS-CoV-2—that no one will be held accountable.

If it is indeed proven in court that Munster broke the law, I hope he will receive the maximum lawful sentence and that a salutary example will be made of him.

Ebola, similarly, is a bat-borne illness confined to contaminated bushmeat handling and unsafe burial practices in Africa. Most outbreak fatalities never even reach a hospital. Yet the messaging conspicuously omits sanitation guidance or treatment options. Instead, the public is told a “vaccine is coming in a few months.”

“It’s almost as if this is market development for future vaccination,” McCullough said. Gruber pressed further, asking if the goal is to “soften up the audience” with existential fear so the vaccine becomes the hero. McCullough confirmed the pharmaceutical industry literally calls this market preparation — manufacturing anxiety to create demand for a pre-planned product.

Last night, I joined NEWSMAX to discuss Google’s shocking plan to release 64 million lab-grown, Wolbachia-infected mosquitoes into neighborhoods across Florida and California. The proposal is being pitched as a way to suppress mosquito populations and reduce West Nile virus transmission.

Florida had just six confirmed West Nile virus cases in all of 2025. Six. California reported more cases, but still within the type of year-to-year fluctuations the state has experienced for decades. This is not some catastrophic public health emergency that justifies mass experimentation.

Google should stick to web browsers instead of conducting one of the largest open-air biological experiments in U.S. history that could result in irreversible ecological disruptions.

There are several major risks here:

First, mosquitoes are not just pests. They are part of local ecosystems. Birds, bats, frogs, and fish rely on mosquitoes and mosquito larvae as food. When you aggressively suppress an entire species at this scale, you are tinkering with a food chain that evolved over thousands of years. Once you alter ecological balance, unintended consequences can follow quickly.

Second, eliminating or severely suppressing one mosquito species does not mean the problem magically disappears. Other invasive species can fill that ecological niche. We could very easily end up trading one problem for another — potentially one we understand even less.

Google already tested this in Fresno, California, in 2018. Mosquito populations dropped temporarily — but when the releases stopped, the mosquitoes came roaring back.

In other words, it seems Google would like to sell subscription services for mosquito releases.

This is the world we live in now….

We already have proven and reversible mosquito control tools. We do not need Big Tech companies experimenting on ecosystems with no off-switch.

The lone abstention came from Dr. Hana El Sahly of Baylor, who noted the data showed an XFG-targeting vaccine wasn’t overwhelmingly superior to existing formulations.

The FDA is expected to rubber-stamp the recommendation, and manufacturers — Pfizer, Moderna, and Sanofi (which now markets the Novavax protein-based shot) — will begin cranking out doses for the fall respiratory season.

That’s six years of annual — sometimes biannual — reformulation. No other vaccine in the history of medicine has been re-engineered and redeployed this frequently without completed phase III efficacy trials for each iteration. The influenza vaccine, for all its well-documented shortcomings, at least has decades of safety surveillance and established manufacturing platforms. The mRNA COVID products represent a fundamentally different risk calculus being treated with the same regulatory casualness as a flu shot swap-out. Unlike the influenza vaccines, mRNA and its product the Spike protein, accumulate in the human body causing disease and disability over time.
